Yao Jiheng and Dai Zhen played special roles in the history of the study about Shi Jing in Qing Dynasty. But the academic circle rarely refers to their study of Shi Jing. This article comments on them on the basis of the quoting examples with comparison and summarizes respectively Yao and Dai's characteristics and achievement.This article is divided into three parts: First, compare Yao's study about Shi Jing with Dai's. It's the most important part. We begin to work from four aspects: analysis on the topic of the poems; investigation about critical in terpretation of words and names of objects and systems; literate perspective; identical and difference in study attitudes and ways. Second, analyze the causes of difference in Yao and Dai's study about Shi Jing. The author thinks the chief reason is the difference of the academic atmosphere they lived in and what they handed down by the master. Third, analyze Yao and Dai's influence on the later study. They porvided two different study ways of Shi Jing for the later people.This article has its emphasis during comparison. It focuses on the difference between Yao and Dai's study so as to emphasize their contribution. Thus we can seek a certain place for them in the history of the study about Shi Jing. And this is one important aspect of sorting out the study heritage about Shi Jing.
