The auxiliary term laizhe has always been the research focus that grammar circles pay close attention to. Many researchers have made a great many research on its meaning, usage and source. This paper, by analyzing a large quantity of examples, describes the grammar position and suitable sentence type of laizhe in Modern Chinese , and at the same time, compares laizhe with lai in Modern Chinese , and trying to explore the meaning and usage of laizhe and make an explanation.The paper can be divided into four parts:1.The grammatical position of laizhe. According to different situations of the sentence in which laizhe appears, this paper not only analyzes the position of laizhe , but also discusses emphatically its conditions when used in the middle of the sentence.2.The suitable sentence type of laizhe. This paper analyzes the usage in declarative sentence, interrogative sentence and exclamatory sentence, pointing out that that laizhe cannot be used in imperative sentence is in relevance with its grammar meaning.3.The grammatical meaning of laizhe. This part explores whether laizhe is a tense auxiliary term or an aspect auxiliary term, and moreover, analyzes the tense of sentences in which laizhe appears, pointing out that laizhe is a tense term indicating the past and the second laizhe(来着2)is not in consistent with the first laizhe(来着1)4.The conditions that laizhe can be used. This part analyzes the usage that laizhe coexist with tense term, quantitative composition, describing modifier and negative adverb, and discusses the situations that several kinds of verb phrases are used in the sentences that laizhe belongs to. These verb phrases include verbs accompanied with complement that indicate the direction or the consequence of the verbs and verbs that can be overlapped.
