Owing to the graduation of the modernization of China, the main aspect ofChina regional culture is local. As a remote region in China, Bashu area ischaracterized by a especially introverted local culture, thanks to the geographical, social and humanistic factors peculiar to it. The modern Sichuan writer'sexperience in this local culture in their childhood and early youth affected themprofoundly even after they threw themselves in the mainstream of the Chinesemodern culture, thereby being an integral part of the organic whole of theirindividual thought. Choosing the four important modern Sichuan writers, namelyGuo Moruo, Aiwu, Li Jieren and Sha Ding as the objects of studies, this papergives a brief account of their lives with a macroscopic view and gives proof of thesignificance of the regional culture activated in the interactions between differentcultural resources, which is reflected in the related literary phenomena and literaryworks that can be interpreted with such significance with a microscopic view. Thedifferent incarnations of the regional culture of Bashu in distinct personalities ofmodern Sichuan writers indicate the richness of the real life at the turning point oftimes as well as the richness intrinsic to the history of modem Chinese literature, which lends itself to the current construction of cultural ecology.
