In someone's sight, the role of humanities in the England development only displays that humanities gave descendants some products, such as poem, drama, music, and picture. To the overall and profound effect on the England society's development, it is ignored by historians .People pay close attention to Europe Renaissance. Even though some historians study England Renaissance, they concentrate on some famous people, like More, Shakespear and Bacon, but overlook the concrete effect of the whole England humanists on the England development.According to the historical materialism, the force proving society development is not only one. We should think over the productive force of and also think over other forces, for instance, the force of Renaissance. The humanist is the leading role of Renaissance. If we want to clarify the effect of Renaissance, we have to make clear the effect of the humanists. So this paper concentrates on discussing the effect of humanists on the modern England development.Besides straight matter and concluding remarks ,this paper consists of four parts. The first part discusses the Englishhumanists' effect on converting English people's ideology. The effect mainly embodies in the next aspects: they tried their best to advocate the spirit of "human" which encouraged English people to risk; they made English people's fortune idea converted; they changed English people's asterism; they made rationalism throw light on the world again.The second part mainly discusses that humanists' positive activity has a great effect on the English Reformation; the works and the thoughts of the humanists greatly influence the society movement and thought tide of modern English.The third part mainly expound in the humanists' effect on the English nationality unity. The effect is mainly embodied in next aspects: the activity of humanists facilitated the nationality sense of pride and the nationality cohesive force to take shape; humanists also made progress in the utility of nation language; humanists' activity of opposing to Rome Pope is beneficial to national independence.The forth part mainly discusses how the humanists made progress in education and science advancement.
