Many great thinkers in the Western philosophical history had interested in aesthetics, among whom, for example, Plato, Aristotle, Nietzsche , Hegel and Marx, etc. are mentioned in the paper. But, since the rise of phenomenology in 20 century, the thought of art has entered a brand new field of vision. From this phenomenological view, which could be represented by Hussual and Heidegger, the traditional aesthetic ideas are not yet the true "thought of art", and the traditional aesthetics are not yet able to reveal the true essence of art. The Art stays covered. What, then, is the true essence of art? The true art indicates that art is not only entertainment, but that art is the outcome of the truth. Of course, it is not to say that art is the truth, but that the art as the outcome of the truth is the "reflection" or the "revelation" of the truth. That is, the true art reflects the truth. There are four chapters in this paper. The first chapter focuses mainly on important aesthetic ideas in the Western philosophical history, attempting to find out a clue from logos to art as the preparations for discussions of phenomenological in the next chapter. The second chapter discusses mainly phenomenology and art, analyzing more specifically the principles of phenomenology as well as the close relationships between phenomenology and art.The third chapter concentrates on the thought of "being" of Haidegger, arguing that how to understand the idea of "Be-in-the-world" ( In-der-Welt-Sein) is the prerequisite to understand all the ideas of Haidegger. Also, from the thought of"being", I go further on to analyze "the moment construction" of art, the new mission of art, and how art reflects the truth. In chapter four, based on some specific phenomena in art, I propose the significance of time to art and to "being in the world". Whether we are truly able to understand "Art" depends on whether we are truly able to "Listen". "Listening" here is not listening to the sounds of certain objects, but to the comprehension about "being in the world", to the timeliness of a person's "being in the world". It is in this "listening" that human beings are liberated.
