Women's Clothing Of Tang Dynasty Affected By Hu Culture

Hu were some minority nationalities whose people lived in the North and West China and their cultures were different from Han culture. On the one hand, they were affected by Han culture, however; on the other hand, various foreign cultures were imported into Han through them. Tang culture achieved the most flourish time because of the mixture of Han and Hu. Especially, the women's clothing in Tang was the most excellent in all dynasties.Women's clothing in Tang was a successful example of using foreign culture. On the basis of the traditional kernel, it developed through selection and absorption, which gives us good example of inherit, inference and creation in our fashion design fields.In this paper, the relations of Hu culture and women's clothing of Tang Dynasty were discussed by using comparisons and referring to archaeological materials. Particularly, It was analyzed that how Hu culture affected style, features, fabrics, print and color expression of women's clothing in Tang Dynasty. From all analyses, some inspirations will be obtained for modern design.
