Virginia Woolf, after examining the present condition of women's twofold oppression and neglect by men's society and their total loss of self-consciousness, demands a female to be her self, an independent self, which is her fundamental stand on feminism. This serves as the basis of her literary creation and feminist poetic thoughts, with getting necessary writing condition, constructing a poetic tradition of their own, expressing their distinctive mentality of value and forming the creative mind of androgyny as its main contents. Compared with the feminist thoughts and poetic theories before her and the feminist poetic researches after, Virginia Woolf's feminist poetic thoughts have the characteristics of being initial, integrated, open, experiential and non-political. Her feminist poetic thoughts not only set the basic theoretical sketch but also open up two "roads" for the modern feminist poetics. By studying her feminist poetic thoughts, we can recognize some misunderstandings of the modern feminist poetics, adjust our direction and make a choice of our own.
