Study Of Ornamental Languages In The National Costume Of Yunnan China And The Usage In Modern Design

The thesis will study the ornamental languages in the national costume of Yunnan China, which include the decorations, plentiful ways of ornaments and the graphics ,colors ,forms. At same time , I will study the cultures in this languages ,that include the traditional aesthetic characters, ethnic spirit and art. By the compare of traditional ethnic ornaments and fashion trend ,I try to find common things between them , and excavate the parts of ornamental languages that fit to the modern aesthetic concepts. I will explore the ways of putting traditional ethnic art into different fields of modern design ,and let the ethnic art have long life in the modem society.By the market researching ,I find that the applications and developments of the Yunnan traditional ornamental art in modern design are not so effective as we, hope ,though the traditional ethnic ornamental art is really attractive to more and more people in the modern society , most of studies of traditional ornamental art focus on the reproductions instead of applications.The conclusions of my study think that the developments and applications of Yunnan traditional ethnic ornamental art in modern products design have great potentiality. The key of applications is innovation. We should use the modern method to innovate the traditional ornamental art ,and let it fits to modern aesthetic concepts and also preserve the traditional ethnic characters . At same time , we should put the ornamental art into more fields of modern design ,and design the real modern products with ethnic style and fit to the usage of people in modern society. If so , we can crate great value in the modern market, in the same time , carry on and promote the traditional ethnic art and spirit.
