As a contemporary feminist writer who has seen the development of feminism from the 1970s till today, Andrea Dworkin has written many feminist fictions and non-fiction essays, among which the fiction Ice and Fire is of great importance because of its autobiographic elements and the feminist point of view expressed through it. Through the textual analysis of Ice and Fire, the present thesis will show Dworkin's attempt to lead feminist studies to focus on the personal and the psychological issues concerning women, and tries to lead feminist studies to accept the idea that personal and psychological study can be a way, and a very important way, to represent, to reveal and hopefully to solve the problems concerning women. Through a detailed analysis of the text, I am able to see both the progress that Dworkin has made in Ice and Fire and the limitations of her theories and approaches that has been revealed in the fiction.
