The Study Of Relations Between Yan Xishan And America (August 1945-April 1949)

Yan Xishan changed the policy of "pre-Japan" into "pre-America" after Japan was defeated in the Second World War and he came back to Taiyuan in August 1945, and the policy was stopped after the liberation of Taiyuan in April 1949. Yan Xishan associated with America by three channels of locality, nation, and the folk. But what he had done was off and on, and had not system. Second, the thesis expounds the development of the relations between Yan Xishan and America: the phase of overall engagement. The development mainly showed in the engagement of economy, politics, and-culture. Third, the thesis expounds the relations between Yan Xishan and America during the period of the liberation of Taiyuan. Because of the demand of the situation, the relations between Yan Xishan and America centered in something about military affairs. Forth, the thesis makes an orientation to the relations between Yan Xishan and America, and has a further analysis of the orientation. YanXishan gamed a lot in particular things by associating with America, but he did not achieve the desired results.Concluding remarks make a summation of the thesis.
