Sleep is the physiologic and psychologic need for the body. In modern society, the rhythm of life is faster and faster, and the problem of sleep deprivation is more and more, which influence is stronger and stronger especially in military. The performance's decline is the integrative result that sleep deprivation impair many kinds of psychologic functions. So, the study of sleep deprivation is getting more and more attentions in the fields of military, aviation, aerospace, navigation, medicine and traffic. An important target in the study of sleep deprivation is to look for the practical and effective countermeasures. Sport, ache, cold , the regulation of diet, work and sleep habits, the drugs of incitant and hypnotic, and so on, are effective against sleep deprivation on a certain extent, but as we know, all these methods aren't ideal still. So , to look for some other coutermeasures is necessary. After reviewing the study of sleep deprivation and Electroencephalogram biofeedback (EEGBF), we suppose that EEGBF could be the potential countermeasure of sleeep deprivation. Anyway, sleep deprivation can make people be less motive, easier angry, and damage attention, memory and learning ability. The level of awaking decline in all or parts of brain areas, resulting the general cognition functions decline, that is the outstandingcharacter of sleep deprivation. And, those diseases that adopt EEGBF as a therapy also generally have the abnormity of awaking and the cognotion functions' decline, including several neurosises. In addition, EEGBF can improve the ability of the normal's memory and attention. It have many similarities between the Electroencephalogram (EEG) of sleep deprivation and the diseases that adpot EEGBF as a therapy, i.e., the power of high frequence EEG is lower and the power of low frequence EEG is higher than which of normal. The attention's damage is the typical symptom of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD) that EEGBF been applied mostly. The , , SMR and rhythm's EEGBF of central area or vertex is mostly selected when EEGBF is adpoted in clinic, which can improve the patient's mode and cognition functions , reduce the degree of outbreak, and so on. The curative effect can retain several months even several years. When EEGBF is adopted to improve the normal's cognition functions, the signals is often the , SMR, rhythm from vertex. SMR origins from the sensemotor area, where accept many kinds of sense informations, eg., visual, audio, ache and temperature, and control the output of motor. Besides, the stimulation of sport, ache and cold is also the effective couter measure. The higher power of SMR indicate the higher lever of awaking in the sensemotor area or bigger. Therefore, improving the SMR by EEGBF could enhance the cognition functions during sleep deprivation including attention certainly. So, focusing on attention, this experiment will study attention's variety of young normals during 32 hours sleep deprivation by the battery of selective attention test, sustain attention test, the assessment test of objective state and Event Related Potential(ERP); and then, study the effect of antagonism of improving the Cz's SMR by EEGBF.20 healthy young men took part in the experiment. The process of experiment was well-off. One subject pressed the key too lightly, whose data was excluded from statistics; 6 subjects's data of ERP were not unqualified, excluded too; 8 subjects took part in EEGBF, but 3 of them didn't finished all of the training. The results showed as below. Until sleep was deprived for 26hours, the behavior performance in selective attention task was normal, but the magnitude of P300 declined and the latency prolonged, that suggested the selective attention descended already. Until sleep was deprived for 32 hours, the behavior performance in selective attention task was worse especially in easier tasks, that occurred more significantly in the stages of coding and motor adjust. The performance in the sustain attention task declined clearly too. During t...
