The Exploration Of The Variation Of Cyber Speech

Cyber speech is the variant Chinese which is applied in cyber communication to adapt to the cyber communication context. Cyber communication space, different from the common communication environment, is a virtual one with variant context elements such as the subjects, goals and communicators of communication, nonlanguage and social culture, etc. What matters in the formation of variant language for cyber communication is the variation of cyber communication context. The variation of cyber speech presents not only in linguistic internal levels like pronunciation and lexeme, but also in linguistic external levels, like pragmatics. This dissertation aims to explore the reasons for the formation of variant cyber speech and its performance from the approaches of sociolinguistics and pragmatics.
