This paper aims at studying Sushi's prose creation through seeing about his prose theory, exploring his unique writing style. Su's prose theory has his special characteristics of "natural creation not following the ancestors" and embodies "artistic features of natural unity and coherence in writing, full of various postures". His prose theory and prose creation are closely related to his special life background and thought change. The writer thinks that Su's theory is formed on the basis of arguing against "rhythmical prose style of flashy and without substance", and "eight-legged essay of odd and unreadable" as well as combining his own artistic experiences with theory. His theory has become perfect and been improved through practice. Its contents contain the followings such as artistic relation, prose style, aesthetic judgment, writing principle and "suitable word expression", which include artistic relation of doing two things at a time. That is to say the essay is not only a carrier, but also an advanced pattern. It demands variety and personality of artistic style and objects to the stereotyped writing style and advocates the plain, natural, mild and smooth literary style as well as suitable expression. He believes that the writing objective is to express the ideas clearly and a good writing is to suitable words. The plain, natural, mild and smooth literary style presents different characteristics compared with the forefathers, such as style, intention, artistic conception, framework, layout, language, etc. This style mainly contains the following four parts. The first one is intention, artistic conception which is novel, profound and subtle. The second is selecting and pruning materials reasonably, typically and lively. The third is structure, free and mild layout. The fourth is natural and plain language.
