As far as the role of a person in the development of ancient Roman history is concerned, G. J. Caesar undoubtedly takes up the important status. Caesar' s social reform regarded as a necessary, timely, reasonable reform had an effect on the ancient Roman social development so deeply that it transformed from Roman republic into monarchy and laid the foundations of the Roman Empire. Compared with the anterior reforms, Caesar' s social reform is of obvious non-violent trait, which is caused by Caesar' s personal reasons, Roman rank characteristic and Roman mores. Taking non-violent reform measures benefit the social stability, while it embodies Caesar' s conservative thought. I think, Caesar' s social reform had transformed the Republic objectively, but Caesar still tried to ask for the support from traditionalists due to his own defect. It is the contradictions between the object and the subject, the tradition and the reality that caused Caesar to be murdered. This paper begins with analyzing background of Caesar' s social reform, then researches its contents and then pointsout its trait-non - violent and gives some reasons whichmake this trait. This paper is divided into three parts: the foreword, the main body and the conclusion.Foreword: Summary of the current study situation of Caesar, especially in political field. The main body includes three parts: Part I Analyzing the background of Caesar' s social reform.
