They "added some very valuable writings and comments for the new literary circles of China", and made significant contribution to the foundation of all kinds of new literature style, including essay, prose, new poem, new fiction, drama and so on.Among them, Xu Zhimo's contribution for new poem, Shen Congwen's contribution to modem fiction and Ding Xiling's contribution to modem comedy were top-ranking in the history of modem literature of China.
