Transmutation Of Literary Writings In The Style Of Li Sao In Tang Dynasty

Literary writings in the style of Li Sao began in the Period of War and developed through six dynasties such as Han and Wei. As to the time of Tang Dynasty, it has great changes both in form and content. In content the tendency of its development is the weakening of consciousness of social responsibility as well as the spirit if detesting the world and its ways; and in form it tends to be short and elegant and to combine both forms of poetry and descriptive prose. On this basis literary writings in the style of Li Sao in Tang Dynasty went on developing. The mid-period of Tang Dynasty was on the turning point of transition of social culture to the following period. In this period literary writings in the style of Li Sao not only was influenced by tales of marvels and other forms of literary style in its writing style, but it was bought back to life by the renaissance of the archaic literature movement. And at the same time, it tended to adopt a form of argument and prose, which became the striking characteristic of Song Dynasty. Literary writings in the style of Li Sao in the ending period of Tang Dynasty was filled with miserable emotional atmosphere and it concerned more about daily world life. In this period some works which expressed progressive ideas were produced. The clue of the development of literary writings in the style of Li Sao in Tang Dynasty is very clear and these works take an important position in the whole history of the development of literary writings in the style of Li Sao.
