This paper focuses on gender-linked differences in speech style in Chinese. Former researches abroad were mainly concerned with the communicative style adopted by men and women in western countries. There are not many researches conducted in this field in real Chinese context. My paper aims at coming to some conclusion on typical communicative style adopted by men and women in Chinese. For the purpose of making more findings in this field, I designed a questionnaire first in order to get people's general idea on this question. In order to probe this question further, 14 sections of a TV talk show are recorded for the sake of authenticity and reliability. The analysis shows differences both in speech style and in language form.
