Poem, the organ publishing of Chinese Writers' Association, is the poem magazine with most authority. However, there have never been any study cm it. By studying on the ideology of Poem, this thesis analyzes the relationship between ideologies and the fate of Chinese comtemporary poems, at the same time examines the relationships between poetic publishings and ideologies, between ideologies and poetic development route.This theis goes generally like following: the first part is a clarification of the concept of ideology, which is the base of the methodology of this thesis. Ideologies are the thought systems that the ruling classes in class societies apply to maintain their ruling, "the objective structures of class societies". Via various ways and means, ideologies try to make people believe they are the uniquely right, feasible, legal, reasonable and universal cognition of this world and certain society. The second part analyzes the background, under which Poem came into being. Because the poems of this seventeen years are an intergrated part according with the development of contemporary poetic development, it is reasonable to study them in the general tendency of contemporary poetic development. The third part studies the properties of this publishing and the cultural stand of the compiling committee. Poem is one of the compositive parts of the national ideology, participating in the configuration of dominant ideologies. Therefore, its compiling committee have to keep accordance with dominant ideologies. The fourth part describes the generalcontent and charateristics of Poem. This is an attempt to grasp the ideologies ofPoem. The most important characteristic of Poem as a whole is its strongconsciousness of ideology, which is embodied in the fact that its basic content andcharacteristic as a whole change with the policies of that period. The fifth part is afurther concete elaboration of the ideologies of Poem from its subject matters andthemes, language, criticism and principal part. At the level of its subject mattersand themes, it can be strictly said that poems from Poem are almost all politicalpoems. As for its language, poetic langages of the poems from Poem have threecharacteristics: informal, easy but lacking of content, colorful but not pure,repetitive and monotone. These characteristics are the results of ideologicalintervention. Criticism in Poem is actually comprehension and execution of literaryand poetic policies set down by authorities, tool to legalize and rationalizeadvocated ideologies. In short, Poem expresses its ideology through sets of"inquired" subjects. The sixth part discusses the quality of Chinese contemporaryideology in order to trace the origin of the ideology of Poem as well ascontemporary poems. Contemporary Chinese ideology is a kind of extremelyintegrated ideology, whose execution is facilitated by the remaining feudal ideology.The conclusive part is mainly about the significance of and the author's personalthought about the study.
