Repetition Blindness(RB) refers to the deficit that subjects can not recognize the second occurrence (R2) of a target(Rl) in RSVP paradigm. A variety of researches have been conducted since RB was first established. The overall result shows that RB is quite robust if R1 and R2 are identical. The foregoing researches on repetition blindness mainly focus on the level processing on English character. We use the Chinese character in our experiment to explore the level processing on Chinese character.Experiment1, 2, 3 explored the effect of repetition blindness in Chinese language processing in RSVP tasks. Subjects look at a CRT screen showing rapid sequences of Chinese characters, which was divided into several different contrasts according to synonyms words level, homophonic words level, orthographic similar words level.Experimentl inspected whether the synonyms words could reduce the repetition blindness. We haven't found repetition blindness between the synonyms words. Experiment 2 inspected whether the homophonic words could reduce the repetition blindness. We have found repetition blindness between the homophonic words. Experiment3 inspected whether the orthographic similar words could reduce the repetition blindness. We have found repetition blindness between the homophonic words.Experiment4 inspected the role of Chinese parts, time course, frequency during the repetition blindness. Repetition blindness happened if the Chinese parts have repetition. The high frequency words were showed less repetition blindness than low frequency words. The repetition would get diminished accompany with the longer stimulate time.
