The development of corporal contrastive linguistics and corporal linguistics began to be accelerated in the 1990s. However, corporal translation study is comparatively lagging behind, for so far there are hardly any published Chinese-English paralleling corpuses that can be used by researchers directly in China and those large corpuses under construction still lack ideal frameworks and sufficient data. Thus, this paper dedicates to the design of a large Chinese-English Paralleling Translational Corpus, sets up a mini-corpus for the purpose of hypothesis testing, and discusses the application of translational corpus in translation study, translation practice and teaching as well as in machine translation. The construction of a translational corpus can be divided into several processes, namely, overall design, frame design, material collection, input, paralleling, word-separation and collation. The translational corpus, built up with txt files actually, comprises four sub-corpuses and several specialized corpuses, which are built simultaneously in groups and in sentence-based data forms. The work of paralleling and word-dividing are to be done by the combination of computer calculation and artificial collation.A concordance system is indispensable for a translational corpus, for the latter is simply a data pool while the former can draw useful information from the pool. Based on the concordance functions of linguistic corpora, a translational concordance system is designed, which includes the functions of keyword search, intelligent search, searching words in pairs, sentence structures search, word-frequency, translator and translation search as well as a sort program.Translational Corpus and its corresponding concordance system are of great value to such fields as translation studies, translation process, translation teaching and machine translation. In translation studies, they make the research of macro-translational theory possible, as well as the exchange between bilingual matching sentence structures and the definition of translation style. In addition, they are references in translation process and a more flexible textbook for both teachers and students. All in all, they offer the world of translation a bright future, for although they form computer dictionaries in the moment, they will lay solid foundation for automatic translation in the future.
