The Research Of Learning Strategies In English News Listening Comprehension

The present thesis is an effective way to solve the English news listening comprehension problems in learning a foreign language, using some basic theories of learning strategies, so as to improve our English teaching.The thesis is trying to apply the related learning strategies to the English news listening comprehension teaching, which has played a very important role in learning a foreign language for many years, the English news can afford abundant authentic materials which is accord with the language learning process and it is easy for students to get. For years, foreign language teachers have realized the importance of English news listening comprehension, but the teaching effect of English news listening comprehension was not good, partly because of the lacking of using the learning strategies into the English news listening comprehension and ignore the special features of the English news. Now this thesis is trying to using the attention centralized strategy, guessing strategy and establish the schema strategy which are based on the theories of metacognitive strategies and cognitive strategies in order to improve the teaching effect of English news listening comprehension.The main learning strategies included in this dissertation are attention centralize strategies, choose attention strategies, preparation strategies, reasoning strategies and key words strategies. The present writer not only explain the above learning strategies carefully but also tries to give suggestions on how to apply these related strategies to our teaching.The English news has its own features either in structure or in language, here writer put the emphasis on analysis the features of English news, the structure which usually includes two parts —lead and details, the inverted pyramid structure in the lead and the lead of news is the core.
