On Xunzi's Study Of Fen

In the development of Chinese philosophy , Xunzi is the first one who gives thethought of Fen .He puts forward to natural Ren ,ethical Ren,differentialgroup bydistinguishing Ren from nature ,himself ,animals and others . Thereby he pictures adifferential harmonious society of "Qun Ju He Yi ". This paper about Sunzi theory of Fen on "Tian Ren Zhi Fen " ,Xing Wei ZhiFen ,Shan E Zhi Fen ,Ming Fen Shi Qun . There are four parts in the thesis .Part one is an introduction .This part puts SunziFen theory within the frame of the philosophy history of early Qin Dynasty .It aims atexplaining the character and meaning of the theory of Fen of Xunzi. Part 2 narrates the thought basis and meaning of "Tian Ren Zhi Fen"from "Tian","Ren ",and "Tian Dao". He gives a natural explaining of Tian systematically from theview point of philosophy .He thinks ,Tian is an phenomena of natural change of thestars , the sun and moon ,the four reasons ,yin and yang ,wind and rain ,and all naturalobjects ; .He thinks, the nature has it's own principle ,which changes not by the kindand the evil ;He also thinks Ren's body comes from nature and is one part of ittoo.Then ,he divides Ren as an independed natural subject staying as the opposite ofTian .This makes Ren know the Tian more clearly and completely, think more deeplyand thoroughly as a relatively independed viewer ,then can do better before the Tian . Part 3 : Xunzi suggests the thought of "Xing Wei Zhi Fen " and "Shan E ZhiFen " ,and makes it out from natural Ren and Tian . Xunzi thinks ,E is Ren's bornnature , and Shan is Ren's action later ;thereby ,he divides natural E Ren from the kindethical subject . Part 4,Xunzi suggests the social theory of "Ming Fen Shi Qun " ,on the ground of"Tian Ren Zhi fFen ,Xing Wei Zhi Fen ,Shan E Zhi Fen " .He stresses thedistinguishment of work and status between Ren in order to construct a society inwhich Ren do their best change what they have ;then he divides Ren on the ground ofhumility and nobility ,and views Ren's differential status as the basis of society .Hepoints out this kind of society is necessary, reasonable ,and he gives the way to realizeit too .Thereby he constructs an differential harmonious society of "Qun Ju He Yi '' .
