| Piano originated in the occident, and it has a history of about one hundred years in China. The Chinese piano culture began at the beginning of 20th century. Chinese traditional music with a history of thousands of years was affected by the western music culture. Shen Xintong, Li Shutong, Xiao Youmei and Wang Guangxi, patriotic musicians with knowledge of western and Chinese traditional culture, rose the new music movement in China, exploring significantly the possibilities for compose Chinese piano ethical music with western composing technique and with the piano, which was called the King of musical instrument, as the tool. Piano fever keeps rising with reform and opening up in our nation. At the same time, enhancement of study in Chinese piano opuses becomes one of the focuses in piano teaching in China. Chinese piano opuses' composing developed with a history of intercommunion and syncretseing between western and eastern culture. But there were various prejudices in its own development. It was traditional that piano art was considered to be western and western opuses were the main targets for piano studying, while Chinese piano opuses counting for little. Chinese piano opuses made a great progress because of Chinese musicians' endeavors, but it is hard to find a Chinese piano opus which could match up to our great nation and its splendid culture with long history. Some students are still putting emphases on western piano opuses regardless of national opuses. The article expresses my opinion about the topic. The article was composed of introduction and three chapters. Introduction: reflections form piano fever. The content includes several problems caused by piano fever and studying projects. Chapter 1: Development of piano art in China. The content includes piano's history in China and achievements in composing and teaching of piano opuses. Chapter 2: Reasons of Chinese piano opuses' lack in teaching, shortcoming in Chinese music composing and advantage and unshakeable status of western music culture. Chapter 3: Putting emphases on study in Chinese piano opuses. Chinese piano opus has characteristic of its own. Emphasizing Chinese piano opuses' importance from the view of difference between western and Chinese cultures. |
