As one of the most important affective factors in EFL learning, motivation has great influence on both the learning process and result. In the oral English teaching, the teachers are challenged by some unmotivated or demotivated learners. The motivational problems prevent the language teaching and leaning going successfully and effectively. However, the current researches on language learning motivation in China mainly focus on the importance of motivation, and nearly no studies concern the motivational factors, teacher's influence on learners' motivation and the motivational strategies in oral English teaching.Because of the existing motivational problems in oral English teaching and learning, and the present situation of motivation researches, this paper intends to study and analyze teacher's influence on learners' motivation intensity and seek for the teaching strategies to motivate the learners. This paper presents the motivation theories and their implications in language teaching, studies the motivational factors and puts forward some motivational strategies. A questionnaire survey was made by the writer with the aim of identifying the learners' motivation and motivational factors, especially the factors that related to teacher's behaviors and the learning environment. Quantitative research method is used in the survey.The SPSS analysis of the collected data shows that teacher's behaviors have a close relationship with the learners' motivation to learn. Based on the analysis of motivation theories, the findings of my survey and my teaching practices, some motivational strategies are put forward to initiate, increase and sustain learners' motivation to learn in the context of oral English teaching. Owing to the limitation in the relatively narrow samples, further studies in the motivational factors and motivational strategies should be conducted.
