Philosophy and religion is always the home of life and soul for an intellectual. Say with Huang Tingjian' words"make deep-rooted, and then the branch and leaf is luxuriant.". His thought on nature and way of heaven is the foundation for him to set down a quiet Life. His thought on poetic and creation is like fresh and green leaves and blooming flowers in the branches of his philosophy. It is undoubtedly essential to take his philosophy and poetic ideas as a whole, to probe and touch his spiritual world and artistic spirit, understanding his philosophy and poetic ideas. This article tends to. from a point of view of the history of culture, close to the spirit of Huang tingjian and his creations.In the first chapter, the author traces his thought back, by putting Huang Tingjian in jungle of the intellectual history of Northern Song Dynasty. The author mentioned that it is Li Gongze who led Huang Tingjian' into the door of Confucianism and it was Sun Xinlao who guided Huang to a deep understanding of Confucianism. During the years of Xining and Yuanfeng, pushed by Wang Anshi, there came a trend of studying universal truth and a research on the book of Laozi and Zhuangzi, during which, Huang Tingjian enriched the thought of Mengtz and the Book of Change, formed his thought on "Xin and Xing". After the middle age, absorbing the thought of Huanglong Zen Buddhism, he bettered his thoughts and formed his liquid, idea, which comprised Confucianism, Daoism and Buddhism and took "see your nature" as destination.In the second chapter, the author sums up Huang Tinhjian's idea of "Xin and Xing". The author mentions that Huang Tingjian had built his own philosophy consciously and systematically. It was of significance in understanding him and his poets in the way of decomposed and rebuilt his philosophy. On the base of "to see yourself' of Mengtz' and "get to the root" of Laotz', assimilating the opinions of Zen Buddhism, Huang Tingjian formed his solid philosophy.
