The Research Of Architectural Decorative Art Of Northern Song

Northern Song Dynasty is a highly developed era of economy, science and technology ,culture and arts in our country's history. Progress and demand of the society have promoted the development of architectural art greatly in Northern Song Dynasty. " Ying Tsao Fa Shih(Methods of Architecture) "which notes to brick making , stone making , small wood making, and color paintings making in detail with the clause and pattern, reflects that the artistic level of architecture has more improvement in Northern Song Dynasty than that of the former generation. On the basis of such materials as existing objects and books, drawings, etc., combining with "Ying Tsao Fa Shih (Methods of Architecture)",this paper analyzes architectural decorative art characteristic of Northern Song Dynasty , then explores the status of architectural decorative are of Northern Song Dynasty in the whole architectural history and theirs relation with before and after generation of it. This paper has four chapters, which is namely the relevant questions of the architectural decoration; the environment of political and economic culture in Northern Song Dynasty; the analysis of Northern Song Dynasty's architectural decorative art characteristic, the influence of architectural decorative art in Northern Song Dynasty. On the basis of understanding architectural decorative art , the background of its producing Northern Song Dynasty is expounded , and the characteristics of it are analysed deeply in Northern Song Dynasty. First, the origin, development and characteristic of the architectural decoration of our country is narrated briefly. On this basis, the proposition, research current situation and purpose and meaning of research of the subject are expounded. Second, the great environment that the decorative art of architectural producing in Northern Song Dynasty is analyzed from three respects of politics, economy, culture, and these respects influencing in decorative art of the architecture are summarized too. Third, Analysis and researching the decorative art of the architecture in Northern Song Dynasty is carried on. From the ornament of the single timber structure building separately, ornament of the brick stone building, color and decorative art of environment four respects. The architectural decoration demonstrated the soft and magnificent characteristics because of the prosperity of economic culture and people's aesthetic standards changing. In that, the whole characteristic of ornament in Northern Song Dynasty attached more importance in the portrayal, deliberation of the detail and made the architecture to be exquisite and naturalistic. In contrast, these of Tang Dynasty are forceful and grand, lacking the method of detail art. Forth, this chapter summarizes the relation of inherit and develop and influencing on the later ages in decorative art between Tang Dynasty and Northern Song Dynasty. Decoration arts in many facts are opened and initiated from Northern Song Dynasty, are inherited in Jin and Yuan Dynasty, and reach splendid periods in Ming and Qing Dynasty on the base of former generation ones.
