Succession And Development Of The Folk Fabric

Today of global economic integration, regional characters of a nation and folk traditional culture seems particularly important. Nowadays, How to integrate the soul of traditional culture and modern design is one question that designers consider and probe into. Under the guidance of my tutor, through the market research of the folk fabric for many years, by making the best use of the situation, the article chooses noticeable Lu brocade (a kind of fabric in my home town) in art of the folk fabric as the research object. From innovation experience of Lu brocade we can know how to develop folk traditional culture, and through this thesis, try to look for the joint of folk tradition and modern design in practice.Firstly, starting from Lu brocade's origin, environment, culture background, this thesis holds its culture connotation and spiritual function. Secondly, from three respects of making technology, artistic charm of the material, style characteristic of the pattern and artistic principle, this thesis comprehends Lu brocade's cultural charm and inherent aesthetic spirit. Thirdly, utilizing modern design ideas and combining traditional aesthetic thoughts, it discusses Lu brocade's new direction of development, from two respects of its pattern design and its application in living environment.
