During his whole life, he composed a large amount of novels, collections of short stories and prose. Living in a transitional period, Conrad made every effort to reflect the new reality with the new art form, which gave his works the new art characteristics. This article aims to display the art characteristics of Conrad's novels. A. Excellent Impressionistic Writing Skills In Conrad' s opinion, the glamour of the novel consists in communicating the impression by the feeling, otherwise the novelist will not find the mysterious source of human' s affection. As a result, he opposed to tell the story and introduce the character on time order, seldom attached his own thought to his readers by simple art skills and insisted on catching the strong impression of a person in an instance and completing the impression by combining relative description. Conrad's symbolic language was not explicit, but obscure, implicative, diversified and compound.
