The life experience was originated from the oppression of existent crises of individuals, nation and human, as well as lives destroyed by the crises. The thesis discusses the concrete representation and profound meaning of life consciousness implied in novels written by Shen Congwen by means of analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, and so on.The thesis consists of an introduction, a body and a conclusion. The introductionrepitomizes that, based orrthe existent crises of individuals and nation, under the influence and push of awakened self-awareness during the period of May 4th in China, Shen Congwen regarded Life that belongs to spirit as his belief in order to save crises. Furthermore, it became the concrete content of his ideal of rebuilding national characters.The body is divided into two chapters. Chapter One analyses the embodiment of his existent experience in the novels written by Shen Congwen in two respects, that is Beauty of Life and Worry of Life. Beauty of Life, which was in the depths of his memory as well as his historic reversion caused by the oppression originated from crises, describes the Original and True existent condition in the West Hunan Province. So, the resources of rebuilding for Saving Crises were found. Worry of life, based on the reality, reveals the well-being of the underprivileged and urban people, that is the Unoriginal and Untrue existent condition of Degeneration. Chapter two mainly expounds that he exceeded the Life. Before his exceeding the Life, he was in chaos characterized by solitude, loneliness, pain and blankness.
