The unconscious which was proposed by Freud, according to his experience of treatment, is a fundamental concept of psycho-analysis .He had new observations on dreams , parapraxes and jokes based on it , and these observational results proved it is reasonable . There are still many doubts on it and many difficulties in discussing it whereas his conclusion. In fact ,it is the hypothesis of unconscious that drives us embark on psycho-analytical practice ,that requires we'd better have a profound comprehension about it so that we could do better in practice . One statement from the dynamic standpoint which helps us understand it was mentioned by Freud as following: 'the unconscious is the repressed '.The main purpose of this paper is to clarify the unconscious with the clue of 'repressed' through reviewing the works related to it, and pay special attention to the development of 'the repressed' and the instruction for clinical practices. The theory of repression is the cornerstone on which the whole structure of psycho-analysis resets. We obtain the concept of the unconscious from the theory of repression. The repressed is the prototype of the unconscious for us. In Freud's opinion, neurosis originate from the conflicts between libidinal instinct and repression. It holds a view that the repressed mainly are childhood wishes which haven't forgotten but have been repressed to the Ucs.. The task of psycho-analysis is to eliminate the repressed.Freud named and transferred the repressed by the myth of Oedipus Rex whichhas the similar metaphor to the process of psycho-analysis. The regulation of psycho-analysis help the analyzer with distinguishing and understanding his resistance , including free-association which reconnect the connection between thing representation and word representation that has been cut by the repression , and eventually understanding his unconscious desire through the reconstruction of his past life from the aspect of tongue, not from the social life. The Oedipus complex has been used as the principal instruction of the clinical practices from the methodology which emphasis that the reason result in the symptom doesn't lie in the trauma of the reality but in the fantasy.Oedipus complex has been regarded as the major axis of unconscious, which plays a fundamental part in the structuring of the personality and in the orientation of human desire, it also holds to be universal, transcending the history , the variation of the individual life-experience and the most varied cultures, ethic and nations. After the review ,we can notice that alternative human relationships' variation results constitute based on the languages and the dimension of the Oedipus complex. The setting of the psycho-analytical treatment aims at arousing remembering the repressed, however, there is a culture difference between varied languages. It reminds us that we should reestimate and understand the Oedipus complex in Chinese clinical practices.
