This dissertation is mainly concerned with the application of modern educational technology combined with the foreign language teaching methodologies, with a purpose to realize the process approach through BBS in college English writing class. It begins with discussion on the nature of writing, which illustrates that process approach fits foreign language writing teaching and collaborative study by means of peer interaction is the corn of such approach. Based on this approach, four frame work as 1) stage-featured writing activity; 2) autonomous writing activity; 3) socialized writing environment and 4) positive writing assessment are developed and elaborated for the college writing teachers, followed by some suggestions or techniques on how to conduct writing course. Then, an empirical study of the application of collaborative writing model is presented. At the end of the dissertation, a discussion on what has taken place in this study and its result is conducted, in order to analyze its features and assess its achievements in the respects of writing competence.
