Dynamic In The Music Structure

This thesis is a study of the music dynamic and structure and their relationship. The analysis of the dynamic is based on Professor He Xuntian's ideas suggested in his book The Theory of musical Dimension, that the essence of the dynamic relationship is its space structure; the music dynamic relationship is defined as the third dimension in the music structure; the dynamic relationship represents the structure of near and far space.This thesis studies the issue of the dynamic in the music structure through theoretical interpretation and the analysis of music works. It is divided into two sections.The first section mainly discusses the ideas of the music dynamic and structure and their relationship, and it is divided into 2 chapters. The first chapter is a general discussion on dynamic, including its physical features, its absoluteness and relativity in music, its tablature, its meaning in music and the history of its application. The second chapter is a general discussion on structure, including its concept, the structures of various fields and their features, the concepts of music structure and dynamic structure, and the relationship between the structure of music dynamic and the entire music structure.In the second section, the writer discusses the major categories of the structure of music dynamic by analyzing 6 music works created by different composers in different times and places, including the fourth chapter of Mozart's 7th Symphony, the overture of Wagner's Tristan und Isolde, Ravel's Bolero, Messiaen's Mode de Valeurs et d'Intensites, He Xuntian's The Pattern of Sound Suite No. 3, and Carter's 8 Etudes and a fantasy No. 7.Since the issue of dynamic covers a large scope, it takes large and careful work to make a complete study on the structure of dynamic. It also takes a long and in-depth research to find reasonable answers to such questions as the quantification of unlabeled dynamic and how to establish the standard for the quantification of a comprehensive dynamic. As the first step of the research on the dynamic in structure, this thesis mainly discusses the labeled and mono-linear dynamic, some of which may be related to the unlabeled dynamic and comprehensive dynamic.At present, there are few studies on this issue both in the country and abroad. In addition, the study of the dynamic structure as the third dimension of the main music structure is an entirely new idea and new area.
