Some writers believe Yu Hua is cruel .This courment is not wrong which can be proved by his works, his words as well as his nar(?)ing style. However, why Yu is so cruel? The writer believe, It is not Yu Hua but the (?)alitythat is cruel.Yu Hua understand the destiny thoroughly. For he has drawn the outline of different faces of destiny. He is helpless and puzzled because these faces are vague in some way. He has a little anger and will not be resigned to the destiny somewhat .Some writers think his works also invole the roughness of human's living, which he acknowledged himself. Anyhow he has revealed the natural state of human's living more than that.This thesis explores the subjective conscious(?)s of Yuhua's works by such four parts as violence, death, mystical experience. hangeableness and loneliness, and also explores, the internal driving force at the (?)ock of Yuhua's cruel face as is named "destiny" which exists everywhere and can not be shaken. In fact he shows the mercy by his works "Huo Zhuo" and "Xu San Guan (?)tai Xie Ji" .All this is not more than a baby of Yus consciousness of destiny .It is ju(?) the consciousness of destiny with the characteristic of eastern mysticism that ma(?)es him so cruel .It is believed that Yu's consciousness is a kind of voluntary cons(?)ousness awakened by western modernism and post-modernism at the end of 1980s and the beginning of 1990s. Thethesis attempts to seek the "internal driving force" relying on Yu's cool narrate and the "five faces" which is the consciousness of destiny all through most of his works. It is the consciousness of destiny, that is ,it is some special knowledge about the world and life that leads to the yearn for the form.In order to grasp Yu's conscious, skillful and bright eastern style and individual character and then grasp Yu's consciousness of destiny more distinctly the thesis also compares the angle of view arrangement, image-design and words with those of western works belonging to the modernism and post-modernism that influenced Yu's works.Although most of the critics will satisfy themselves with their subjective judgment on others' works more than they themselves can produce some, it will not reduce the accurate rate of critic.
