Vladimir Nabokov is a controverted writer, his famous novel'Lolita'makes people have different evaluation on it. The distinctivenovel tells us a different story, especially the hero and the heroineof the novel are very unique. Formerly, people layed particularemphasis on the hero and the heroine's mentality and the temperament. This text tries to analyze the hero and the heroine's life coursecomprehensively, with the spots of the death and the time. And this textmainly tries to recognize the hero and the heroine in philosophicalaspect like "death" and "time" ,basing on the hero and the heroine's sexual love process;and the same time ,giving prominence to the sexrelation which is brimming with the tension and the unity of opposites;and tries to get a new conclusion.Going into exile long termly, noblely and having rich experiences,Nabokov had pointed opinions on the death and the time. He thought :thelife is rich and have many facts, but the being finally goes to death;the short time of the life may last forever because of the people'sunique action .In 'Lolita' ,facing the death and the time, the masters Humbertand the Lolita have different destiny. This text tries to interpret thehero and the heroine in two sides. To the hero Humbert, the "time" makehim go to death because of the inner and the wide paradises. He has theconsciousness of the death innerly, the childhood girlfriend's deathmade Humbert think the death uniquely;the death is unique to him, Lolitais the "time" for him. the death to him is not dread anymore and itchanges into metaphysical power;he heads for the death with the relationto Lolita, because in the relation he clearly feels that the being'sabsurd and brutal, he inevitably loses the past and the future ,so thedeath is not only the release but also the surpass for Humbert. To Lolita , she finally loses her meaning when trying to use thetime. The trip to the death is the certain result for her looking downon the rule of the time;she is most interested in the future;but herexperience with Humbert in fact have killed her who should be morevigorous, she just dies on the "now" time;and it also snatches herfuture, so Lolita is just from one nothingness-condition to another;Lolita can not grow in the right meaning and her life is not full enoughbecause she can not use the time rightly. Lolita costs too much for herlife just because she bantered the time and wanted to use the time toexceed all the control. So finally, the two people's fate is the death, with the time's pushing forward. This part interprets the novel from three sides:Firstly, their mental time changes fastly. Secondly, their factionfinally is defeated by the time . Thirdly, through the death, they maygain the regeneration in being side. The ultimate conclusion is that :Humbert and Lolita act on their own ,though the result is passive, theaction brings the scar to the life, but it also continuously approachesthe eternal being, the being even can contain the death.
