The exceeding politicization is the outstanding characteristic of the Chinese social setting of talking and speaking in the periods of "the Seventeen Years" and "the Great Cultural Revolution". The unusual social setting has some profound influences on the adapting of the famous literary works and the revising of their adaptations, which include four respects : the influence on the choosing of the original works, the influence on the features of the adaptations, the influence on the adapters, the influence on the artistic forms of the adaptations."Lin Hai Xue Yuan " is the only one of the more than ten "Classic Revolutionary Novels" of "the Seventeen Years" that have been adapted to "Modern Revolutionary Beijing Opera". Based on the history of adapting the novel "Lin Hai Xue Yuan ", the thesis analyzes the four influences of the politicized social setting.Besides, the thesis strives to interpret the text nature of "Lin Hai Xue Yuan " and its adaptations from a new angle.
