The eighteenth century witnessed the rise of the trip,socalled the Grand Tour,of British gentry to the Europe. The Grand Tour was convinced to be an indisipensable form of education for young noble and popular in the higher ranks of society.lt was aslo imitated by other wealthy classes later.This phenomenon took root deeply in the social history and had general influence on the development of Britain and Europe.This dissertation introduces former studies,specifies the concept,explores the evolution and appearance,and then analyses the main causes and influence of the Grand Tour.In the author's opinion, the Grand Tour civilized British gentry,improved it's literacy,art and science,and connected Britain and Europe closer.On the other hand, the Grand Tour also had influence on the mainland,and made the Europe more intergrative.
