The Money tree,discovered in Cave tombs and brick tomb chamber through archaeological excavations, prevailed in bashu culture area during the late Han and Three- kindom period. It is one of the important funerary objects buried with the deceased at that time. But after that it disappeared inside out along with the ideas included in its decorative motif.This article discusses several problems about this brilliant artifacts.Firstly, based on the collected substantial information,to find clue to the pictorial structure and theme development during its prevalence;Secondly, to analyze How and why the Money tree disappeared after the Three Kingdom period;Thirdly, to generalize the symbolic meanings of the money tree that can be divided into several levels.at first, the wuzhu coin \ animal \ plant pattern on the bronze leave reflected traditional Chinese auspicious omen. Second,the combination usage of the mud and bronze material showed the Chinese land worship, moreover, the mountain appearance of the claybase gave an impress of legendary mountain. And the last,since the structure of the money tree offered an imaginary way for the flying soul to get to the Chinese heaven, it can also be seemed as an universal tree.After the buddhism spread eastward in Han dynasty,there're several changes among Chinese traditional belief .Different imaginary realm for afterlife were accepted, as well as budda and Xiwangmu were both believed to be the god of them.Sometimes they were confused,but West Heaven and Chinese wonderland always had paralleled structure on the Money tree.
