South Korea used to be a strong manufacturing country. But Asian financialcrisis made it realize single industry was not sustainable for economic development.So, South Korea has diversified its industries adjusting to the market, and cultureindustry became most important one. After Kim Dae Zhung being the president, SouthKorea determined the "national culture" strategy, and developed the culture industryas national development strategy. With the support of the government, South Korea'sculture industry has developed rapidly. In 2004, South Korea's culture product made3.5% in world market and became the 5th world culture country. And in 2005, cultureindustry's output was 50,000 billion South Korea Yuan. But in China, nearby neighborto South Korea, whose population and GDP are larger than South Korea, cultureindustry is not very developed and with many problems. In this text, the author willdiscuss how South Korea developed its culture industry and its inspiration to China:China should base on its specific conditions, make most use of its advantages andpromote its culture industry and society through culture industry policies.
