Study On The Women Of The Westen Novels

This dissertation, from a folklore point of view, reviews the contemporary folk-culture back-ground of the western novels of China, laying its emphasis on influence of folk-culture to the women of the western novels, doing a comprehensive study on the women of the western novels to regional and folk-culture modernistic research its kind. Along with the introduction, this dissertation consists of three chapters.Chapter One, "The characeristic of the women of the Western Novels. " through the definition of Western Novels and the review of the folklore history, we can get the point to view the folklore: folklore is various customs and habits about producing and living of human beings, it comes into being by accumulation and is still under development.Chapter two, "The Influence of Folklore on the women of the Western Novels." Through analyzing the folk-customs of the Western Novels, this dissertation discusses the influence of folklore on six aspects of the western novels.. (1) The Western Novels use for reference to folklore in form. (2) The narrating mode and mythic models. (3 )The folk model of the western novels. (4) Folklore takes emphasis on the tragedy consciousness in the western novels.Chapter three, "The individuality of the writer in shape the womenof Western Novels------ Contemporary literature draw close to Folklore. "The contemporary literature has got a cultural consciousness, the western novels also sprang up at the same time and with the same taste. So the contemporary literature drawing close to folklore is the important background of the western novels.
