Reading comprehension is a complicated cognitive process, during which we picture the scene in our mind described by the author, and explore the significance of the materials through expectation and reasoning. Factors such as the characteristics of the individual and the information could have an impact on the reading comprehension, while the interaction among these factors may be even more complicated. One of the elements of individual impact is cognitive style, a cognitive processing characteristic of individual preference. Learners of different cognitive style have different methods in organizing information while reading, at the same time, they will codify the information in working memory to facilitate withdrawing afterwards. Another element of individual impact is the reading breadth of working memory. The difference in the reading breadth of working memory of different learners reflects difference in reading ability. During the reading process, learners with different reading ability are influenced by cognitive style at a different level, individuals with lower reading ability are tend to be greatly influenced by cognitive style. The characteristic of information will affect individual's choice of information presentation methods. The article type has an influence on learner's methods of organization and information representation as well; as a result there exist differences in reading grades. Through selecting individuals of different cognitive style and working memory capacity, researchers require them to fulfill reading tasks within a limited period of time, and then compare differences in the grades among individuals. It turns out that individuals of two cognitive styles make progress while reading different types of articles, especially the overall-language type individuals. This explains that article type have an impact on the methods of information organization, which is mainly reflected in individuals'changing grades in essay, and these individuals have different cognitive styles and working memory capacity. This research testifies the research assumption: cognitive style affects essay grades of individuals with different working memory capacity differently; individuals with different working memory capacity are variously influenced by different cognitive styles, and article type also affects reading grades.
