In the process of language learning, the development of the learners'communicative competence attracts more and more attention from the teachers and educators. In China, the English classroom is relatively an audiovisual environment for the students to perceive and acquire language knowledge. Teachers and educators are exploring more and more advanced teaching methods to better complete teaching tasks.Then"teacher talk", as the most essential tool with which the teachers teach English in class plays the role of guiding star. Students can acquire language knowledge directly from teacher talk and the most important issue lies in that through teacher talk the students can perceive communication in the very period of learning and using language. Besides, teacher talk enables the teacher to communicate with the students. Then the amount of teacher talk and the function of teacher talk are closely related to the success of language teaching and learning. How the teacher utters and how the teacher's utterances influence the students'learning are questions calling for answers. In order to successfully communicate with the students the teachers pay much more attention to their speech. Their speech plays the role of having the students perform some acts. Assertives, directives, commissives, expressives and declarations have their respective illocutionary forces. The realization of the speech events illustrates the weight of the forces.
