In this information age of stepped-up pace, the public is the creator of science and technology, the source of original and creative ideas. Science and technology is not to be treated as a difficult subject taught in universities and colleges, but to be imbibed in one's life for developing a logical thinking process, and through natural and physical observation, it improves one's creativity. Hence an efficient way to diffuse science and technology is in urgent need. It is popular science English that meets this need. It explores the public's interest in science and gives the public the scientific background to improve its creativity.Popular science English (PSE) has its own stylistic features which are different from academic scientific papers as well as literature works. This thesis mainly concerns with the linguistic features of popular science English in vocabulary, grammar and features of speech by adopting some linguistic achievements relating to language variation, register theory and the situational factors to provide both popular science writers and the public with some guidance on how to write and how to appreciate PSE.
