This thesis tries to study the frequency, type, structure, and placement of the repairs by recording three types of conversations, i.e. the conversations between two Chinese native speakers, between one Chinese native speaker and one second language learner, and between two second language learners. In the recording materials, we find some special repair structures, i.e. one repair containing other types of repair. We find that in the materials, self-repair is much more than other-repair. Among the self-repair, the language learners tend to use other-initiation self-repair; and among the other-repair, language learners tend to use other-repair directly. We also find that repair has two types of structures, i.e. basic structures and special structures. Repairs have five placements, i.e. the first turn, the second turn, the third turn, the fourth turn, and the fifth turn. This thesis also analyzes other-initiation self-repair and other-repair directly by researching the recording materials. We mainly explore the reasons of the other-initiation self-repair, the manners of the other-initiation and the reasons causing the trouble source. We find that repeating the trouble source is the most frequently used other-initiation manner. The main reason causing the trouble source is that the language learners' speech has problems. The findings in this thesis may enrich the repair research and we hope the findings can provide some suggestions for the Chinese language instruction.
