Figure Painting In Wei-Jin Period And Six Dynasties Under The Influence Of The Person Appraisal Trend

Chinese painting has made glorious achievements in Wei-Jin Period and Six Dynasties. The source of scholar painting could trace back to this period, the landscape painting appeared in this period, and the mature of figure painting was still accomplished in this period. At the same time, the framework of Chinese painting critical theory system was built up. But the research on figure painting of this period was not enough, especially in the view of specific culture background, not mention the trend of person appraisal. Therefore, this paper will try to study the influence of person appraisal trend on figure painting in this period. The paper intends to analyze the internal relation between the trends of "person appraisal" and figure painting in Wei-Jin Period and Six Dynasties, in order to find out the characteristics of the artists, creation process, content, form, and critical theories under the influence of the person appraisal trends.
