Abstract: The commenters in previous dynasties have always regarded the"universal love " as the representative theory of the Mohist doctrines and carried on appraisal about it on the point that "ignore any different but take the world as one's own duty". Although there were intense debate, and the academic origin, the status, the content which said to the " universal love " have been carried on by some commentaries, but the overall looks on the " universal love " theory itself excavated not deeply. Present contemporary scholar made further research in the academic origin, the content characteristic, the status, the social practical significance and the comparision with various theory of the " universal love "theory, and the biggest breakthrough is the research about " righteousness and benefit view " . But scholars mostly carried on the analysis elaboration from " coordinated mutual benefit ", and not thoroughly carried on the discussion from its theory intrinsic logic, also extremely little notice that from Mo-tse to Mo-tse later follower the" universal love " theory respectively has each set of systems, there have been developments. This article carries on the thorough analysis about the "universal love " theory from Mo-tse and Mo-tse later followers, and further discussed its development under the different society, the academic background, for the sake of making the reasonable valuable appraisal by the time.The first chapter of this article main analysis the thought origin and historical background of the "universal love ".
