On Some Problems Of Jiangxi's Economic Development In Six Dynasties

During Six Dynasties, Jiangxi's economy got its initial development. Along with its economic development, many problems should be concerned seriously. Due to its internal and external factors, it had its own distinctive characteristics which developed continuously in a long time of communication between economic exchanges in all directions. Based on the research achievements of forerunners, this paper mainly discusses four prominent problems of the economic development of Jiangxi during that period.Firstly, the paper analyses the routes the outsiders entering Jiangxi, the reasons they moving in, their distribution conditions, and the influence of them on Jiangxi's economic development. Owing to the limit of the geographical conditions, the outsiders are mainly distributed in the north, the northeast, and the centre of Jiangxi, i.e. the area of Poyang Lake and Ganjiang River nowadays. At that time, the development region of Jiangxi was confined to that area.Secondly, the paper elaborates the development conditions and features of the country estate economy of Jiangxi during that period, and demonstrates the mode of country estate which played an irreplaceable role in the course of Jiangxi's economic development. Due to many different reasons, Jiangxi's country estate didn't get full development, and still stayed in a relatively low level.Thirdly, the development of the plain economy of Poyang Lake initially laid the foundation of the formation of Yuzhang Economic Zone, which became the third one of the lower and middle reaches of Yangtse River. The paper explores the reasons and reflections of the formation of the economic zone which took the plain of Poyang Lake as the nucleus area.Fourthly, the course of Jiangxi's economic development was actually the inward course that the region of Jiangxi was gradually brought into a core society from an edge society. And the course was long and complicated. The Six Dynasties period was a very important transitional period of this course, which was highly related to the political atmosphere and a series of actions taken by the ruling class.After discussing the four problems mentioned above, the paper will try to faithfully describe the level of economic development of Jiangxi during the Six Dynasty period and put Jiangxi's history of economic development in a reasonable place.
