Herbert Marcuse, an American-German thinker, who was a significant member of Frankurf school, constructed and consummanted the social critical theories of its school. The essay expatiates the theories from its background, source and constitution, etc, to discuss the ways and meaning existing in the change of human from dissimilation to freedom. First, the author analyzes the age and background of the theories from Marckuse's all life and works. Then, the author shows us the source of Marckuse's theories: the early Marxism and Freudism.Marcuse's criticisms are wide-scoped and profound, because he considered the technology as an ideology, which infiltrates through all areas of the society. But, the essay just explains it from several aspects, including science, technology to rule the world in the totalitarianism society brings human being enslavement and shackles, and the metamorphosis of technology in the developed industrial society causes the loss of human being's negativity and opposability . On cultural area, the opposability and creativity is assimilated by the reality, which exist in the advanced western culture. He also criticized the loss of the truth in culture, and pointed out the thinking methods and philosophy of one-dimensional would appear.At the end, the author compares theoretical ideas about the future society of its foreground and outlet and the understandings of enslavement and freedom among Marx, Marckuse and Berdyaev, in order to clarify the meaning of Marckuse's finding ways to solve the mankind dissimilation .
