Since 19th century, the western literary world appeared one literature type which was completely different from the past traditional literature (romanticism, realism) , this is called the western modern school literature. The modern school literature starting by symbolism included the existentialism, the expressionism, the absurd faction plays, the stream of consciousness and so on, and emerged large quantities of modern school works. As the same with the realism, modern school artists also pursued the reality of art, but because of alieniation and the worshing material in monopoly stage capitalist society , the social life wraped on a veil , and caused human' s direct consciousness falseness. If the literature persisted again clearly describing the method of realism, it would not only be able to expose the realistic truth, but would twist it instead. This urged the modernism to have to choose a new artistic form. At the same time, the modernism esthetic interest also started to transform. They requested work to evade the individuality, express the universality, pursue the widespread significant philosophy and the point of view. Therefore, the modern school artists used the ancient symbolic technique as if by prior agreement, creates different kinds of images, Thus caused the literature works with differently styles and contents to display some common artistic characteristics: absurdity, philosophy, ambiguity and interpretation.The ancient Chinese subjective imagism has a long history. Zhouyi · Xici pointed out that the sage could see the "赜" by the image and observe the profound the highest truth about the world. Han Dynasty Wang Chong explicitly proposed in his book Lun Heng the concept of "image" and the "symbol"—the way to create "image". The "image" refers to the expression of the meaning .The image in author' s mind has transformed into the concrete artistic image through the material carrier (language, color, line, note and so on), and became the objective reality thing which readers can appreciate. According to the necessarity of expressing the thought and the explaining the world , taking natural thing itself as the foundation, the expression of the meaning is the second creation according to the analogy principle.
