Zheng is a kind of Chinese stringed instrument, which exist not only in the ancient but also at present. In this dissertation, the classification of Twenty-Eight Modes is used as an angle of view, Zheng modes in the ancient books and notations, are generalized the Diaosheng and Yungong system. The former could be seen in some detailed records of ancient books and in practice ,such as Zheng mode in yuefuzalu(ä¹åºœæ‚录), Zheng modes in Chaozhou and Kejia area, Which see from the angle of modulation in the identical tonality system; The latter could be seen mainly in some ancient notations, such as Zheng modes in leizhengzhiyao(ç±»çæ²»è¦)and renzhiyaolu(ä»æ™º è¦å½•) which are notations edited in the twelve century or so in Japan, Besides, Zheng modes in Zhejiang, Shandong and Henan area are belong to the Yungong system, This kind of Zheng modes fixed their attention on the modulation in the different Yugong system. Meanwhile, the two systems are reflected in the process of practice of Zheng tones, which prove the existence of Diaosheng and Yungong system in the Chinese Gongdiao theory.
