Study On Zhuangzi's Life Philosophy

Life Philosophy is the summary and generalization of people's own origin, existence, evolution and disappearance. And it is the unity of the most fundamental value and outlook on life about life consciousness.The onlyness of life shines light on the deepest and the longest thinking as to life phenomenon, which broods life philosophy. Life philosophy touches on every corner of the traditional Chinese culture. In the ancient books such as Secrets of Changes, Classics of Mountains and Seas, the Classic of Poetry and the Poetry of Chu, all present the theme of the earnest seeking towards life in order to show the concern and the admiration for life in the Chinese traditional culture. Thus in the Pre-Qin times, various schools of thoughts and their exponents describe life consciousness from different angles, but Taoism which always"admiring nature and advocating doing nothing", is the most prominent and perfect one.The paper elaborates on the main thoughts of Zhuangzi's life philosophy. There are altogether six chapters. The introduction part is about Zhuangzi and the historical background of his books, together with the social background in Zhungzi's period. The purpose of the chapter is to illustrate the necessary for the birth of his life philosophy. Then the author begins the body of the thesis from its theoretic origins. In the following chapters the author of the thesis goes on to study the overall system of his philosophy from its foundation, essence, reduction to the philosophic sublimation.Zhuangzi ( 369– 286 BC) also named Zhou, who came from Mengcheng in the Warring States, is an excellent philosopher, thinker and writer. He is one of the representatives of Taoism after Laozi. His masterpiece ZhuangZi, which focuses all the cream of Taoism, is characterized by the oneness of all things, the identity of life and death, the origin of changes, the communication with the heaven and nature, and the mysterious implications. It is really one of the most excellent Taoist works with plenteous life philosophy.
